The Theatre Group arranges trips to see matinee performances of plays and musicals at theatres in a variety of venues such as Cardiff Millennium Theatre and Bristol Hippodrome. We endeavour to obtain good seats and source a coach to and from the performance with time for lunch and a little shop before the performances. Hence tickets tend to be in the £58-74 price bracket.
After successful u3a trips to see Matthew Bourne’s ballet Red Shoes, we have now booked his ballet The Car Man in Bristol on the 3rd September. We are also going to see Owain and Henry with Michael Sheen in November. Unfortunately tickets for these performances are now sold out.
Proposed performances:
Cats at Bristol Hippodrome: 26th November – we’ll leave Monmouth by coach at 10:30 to arrive in Bristol in time for lunch prior to attending the matinee performance, and then return home straight afterwards. The combined cost of coach travel and theatre ticket is £64.55. Please Contact Convenor if you would like to go or want more information.
Then in 2027, Matthew Bourne’s ballet Cinderella on the 18th March – cost from £49.
