Celtic Collectors is an independent music group (though many of us are also members of u3a!).

How it all started:
Formed around two years ago in response to an urgent need to support a local charity, the Celtic Collectors folk group have since performed at many events within Monmouthshire raising awareness and funds, now in excess of £22,000, for local charities, examples including: Reach Out, British Heart Foundation, Gwent Cardiac Rehabilitation, St David’s Hospice, the Drybridge Centre and The Savoy Theatre Trust.
Monstock
We were delighted to be part of the ‘legendary’ Monstock weekend in September raising over £2500 for the Savoy Theatre on Friday evening and another £600 for St David’s Hospice playing in venues around town throughout Saturday.
Supporting the Monmouth Flood Relief Fund
Our last concert, a celebration of Scottish music for St Andrew’s day, on Friday 28th November in St Mary’s Catholic Church raised over £2,000 for the Mayor’s Flood Relief Fund.
Canon Nicholas James has since announced that St Mary’s RC Church Monmouth, would match fund the £2000 raised by the ‘Celtic Collectors’ Flood Relief concert held at the church on 28th November, bringing the new total going towards the Mayor’s Monmouth Flood Relief fund to £4,000 following the devastating floods in Monmouth Town Centre.
Out and about for Christmas
Members also entertained visitors to the Royal Oak with carols and festive songs.
