Our next visit is to a groups-only NGS garden, Y Bwthyn, on Tuesday, 30th July at 10.30am – would you like to join us? Near Llanover, there’s plenty to see in its 1.5 acres specialising in late-summer colour with beautiful sweeping views across the garden and the surrounding countryside. Mixed and late summer herbaceous borders, a gravel garden, pond and bog garden, ornamental kitchen garden, greenhouse, lawns, meadow areas and wildflower banks, and a magnificent veteran oak all invite exploration. There are several places to sit and enjoy the views.
Most garden routes are step free, but there are some steep grass slopes and narrow gravel paths. There’s no wheelchair access to the loo. No dogs, please. Parking is limited to a maximum of 12 cars, car sharing a possibility.
Entrance is £10, to include refreshments – tea/coffee and homemade cake – and an introductory tour for those who’d like it. Plants will be available to buy and sales are by card as well as cash.
If you’d like to go to Y Bwthyn, please let Judy Beba-Brown know via the Contact the Convenor button above as soon as possible stating how many places you’d like and whether you need a lift or can offer one. Once transport is finalised, payment details will be sent. On receipt of payment you will receive directions to Y Bwthyn.
Your place is not confirmed until payment has been received. All monies must be in the u3a account by 6pm 20th July.
