u3a members are invited to join this year’s Monmouth History Society all-day coach outing, on Thursday 16 July. The trip is to the Cotswold jewel of Cirencester – rich in Roman remains and fine architecture as well as boasting tempting shops and places to eat. The town’s Civic Society will be showing us the sights.
Charles says “After lunch, we will be visiting Kelmscott Manor, the home of William Morris. This glorious property displays artwork and objects owned and designed by the Father of the Arts & Crafts Movement. And, as Roy Strong used to say about the V&A, there’s an ace caff attached.
Non History Society members are welcome to join the outing.
We will be departing at 8.30am from Blestium Street, and getting back 6-ish.
The cost is £30, payable in cash on the coach, or by bank transfer to our account (Monmouth Field and History Society, 9644 9405, 09-01-51; please be sure to add your name to the payment).
Don’t delay, please book today!
