A welcome back to Townsend Productions who have thrilled the Savoy with their version of The Ragged Trousered Philanthropist among others.
This is Neil Gore’s new play about the history of the struggle about the right to roam.
It’s a history based on the Clarion Movement who in 1890’s encouraged and celebrated healthy community activities such as walking and cycling. They even built Clarion houses as outdoor retreats and there are still such houses and choirs in existence today.
This is a highly entertaining show told through the songs of the music hall as well as poetry using references from the Clarion Newspaper that dates from this period.
Come and be entertained and find out how the right to roam came to be.
Just drop on or phone and ask for u3a row E and be sure that every one around you is u3a
