Reporting Today’s World-in-Crisis – Professor Simon Cottle
Simon Cottle

On Problems and Prospects

We live in a world of deepening and mutually exacerbating global crises. From climate change and ecological degradation to pandemics, food, water, and energy insecurity, and from world inequality and population movements to rising political instability, conflicts and wars. Based on his latest book Communicating a World-In-Crisis (2025), Simon Cottle explores some of the problematic as well as potentially productive ways in which news media today report on our world-in-crisis and with what consequences.

Free to all Monmouth u3a members. There is no need to book a place, just turn up on the day.

Come alone or bring a friend, stay for a chat over tea and biscuits afterwards.

(after the talk: be part of the group photo of a ‘big cheque’ hand over celebrating the huge amount of money raised and donated by u3a members for Bridges Centre Flood Recovery Fund!)
