Johnny Ball, TV presenter and public speaker
Based on his book Wonders Beyond Numbers Johnny Ball takes us on a whirlwind journey through the History of Maths, explaining how not “doing numeracy” made the Greeks the best maths nation ever, while Islam enabled the Renaissance, until Isaac Newton made the greatest maths discovery of all, by reading just two books, which explains why absolutely anyone can be a genius.
In doing this, Johnny assures me, non mathematicians won’t be left behind or find it too scary!
N.B. This presentation will be via live video link from Johnny’s home to the audience in Bridges Centre starting at 14.30. He will be able to take questions afterwards.
