“A Sunday School Teacher’s Scrapbook”
Now better known as Coventry Cathedral, St Michael’s Church was built late 14th to early 15th century. It was elevated to cathedral status in 1918 on the creation of the Diocese of Coventry. The building was bombed almost to destruction on 14th November 1940.
Having kept a personal record of the Cathedral’s progress through her scrap book of newspaper reports, Kay will talk about Coventry Cathedral from its 1940 ruined condition, through the various planning problems of its rebuilding, up to its consecration in May 1962.
