Would you know what to do if someone collapsed?
Tom Pitts-Tucker from local charity The Village Life Project has kindly offered to run three CPR workshops for Monmouth u3a, based on the Resuscitation Council UK format.
Each one lasts about an hour and covers 4 themes:
1) recognising a cardiac arrest; 2) calling for help; 3) giving CPR; and 4) using a defibrillator.
Everyone gets to practice hands-on CPR with a mannikin, so reasonable fitness and being able to kneel on the floor comfortably is desirable.
The dates of the workshops are:
Tuesday January 13th 2.30 at Mitchel Troy Village Hall, Mitchel Troy, NP25 4HZ (already fully booked)
Thursday February 12th 2.30 at Rockfield Community Centre (new date and venue)
Tuesday March 10th 2.30 (venue to be confirmed)
There is a practical limit of 12 people per session, but more can be arranged if needed.
The cost is expected to be around £8 per person depending on number.
