Candida Meyrick, highly regarded novelist (as Candida Clark) and author of Be More Bird: Life Lessons From a Hawk, which tells the true story of her relationship with a Harris Hawk which she adopted whilst undergoing cancer treatment during the Covid lockdown. Set against the wild landscapes of Anglesey, the book describes the ‘life lessons’ about resilience, freedom and self-discovery that she has learned from her avian friend. The book has been praised by reviewers, including celebrated travel writer Paul Theroux, who describes it as ‘a small masterpiece’.

Candida has written six novels and was voted one of the Observer’s ‘Top Twenty Writers of the Decade,’ and as one of the ‘Best of British’ writers in the New Statesman.
